Amaru’s Journey — Project Page
Amaru’s Journey is a creative literacy and cultural-heritage initiative of the Maya Heritage Center. Conceived by Dr. Lilia Lizama after noticing visual parallels between Native American and Mesoamerican art, the project evolved from a children’s coloring-book idea into a full story for workshops and public programs. With support from Georgia Humanities (2024–2025), Amaru’s chapters are being finalized with guidance from Dr. Maribel Villegas Greene (ABAC) and her students.
